Singing Contest

A Christmas party was held last night at our village and there was a singing contest, there were several contestants that had joined. It has a 2 categories for Teens and Adults. Each category has 3 contestants, male and female. As I watch the contest, I was listening attentively and noticed something is not right. Though the contestants has a great voice, it doesn't sound that good on the speaker monitors. They hit the low and high notes and seems I believe they can sound way better it was.

Later the next day I learned from the organizer, they used an ordinary microphones. There I concluded that maybe that was the cause of the sound not being too good that night especially on the singing contest. I told them that next time they should use a good sounding  dynamic mics and they can buy dynamic microphone at Musicians Friend. I let them try my dynamic mic that morning and yes, it sounded way better than the one they used on their singing program that night.

Kyla's Sims on ipad

My daughter Mickyla is addicted on her newly installed game on her ipad, the game called "Sims". It is like a simulation game, you have to have a character or person in the game which you will be managing. You have a complete control over your character or characters if you have a number of person in your game profile.  You are oblige to take care of your character from their food, education, shelter, feelings and all other needs of a person. It is like having a virtual world. I hope that playing this game would not affect my daughters grades in school.

Our 2013 Church Anniversary

After months of preparation, the day finally come. Tomorrow is our church anniversary, each one of us in the church is involved in one way or another in preparation of this important event of our church. Many souls will be saved during this event because above all it is the main purpose of our church anniversary, to spread the word of God and glorify Him. Presentations from nursery, junior and senior class were ready. Young people and adults also have their numbers to share to our visitors. Our music team composed of piano, guitar, violin, cello and flute were also geared up to play.

I am hoping that next year, new set of instruments will be added to our music team. I am planning to donate a mandolin early next year for anyone who wants to learn to play it. I can save on rogue mandolin if I will buy it online this Christmas season. Because most of the stores online has sale on this yuletide season. I hope that next year's church anniversary will be as organized and successful as this year.

Davao City Speed Limit Ordinance

A new city ordinance was just implemented here in Davao city. It is about vehicle speed limit in Davao city. Because of recent vehicular accidents that had happened the past few months, Davao city mayor Rodrigo R. Duterte posted a speed limit on all vehicle here in our city. He is hoping that by doing this, number of accidents on the road will go down.

Many innocent people were killed on those accidents because most of the involved vehicle was a public utility jeepney. The so called "uso-uso" or a jeepney which runs fast and always on the race with other co-route jeepneys, they are the number one reason why the Davao City Speed Limit Ordinance was created and implemented.

Music studio in Davao, soon...

My cousin visited me today and we talked about their new family business and it is all about music. A music school and a band rehearsal studio. They are asking me to bought for them online some micromark amplifiers for their band rehearsal studio because it's not available here in our city. Hopefully, I'll be able to purchase those amps and arrange it to be delivered here in not more than three weeks. Anyway, they're also looking for a location best for their studio and music school to be put up. If any of you my reader happens to be from Davao, I'd be glad if you would drop me a message if you have a suggestion regarding the future location of those projects and thanks in advance guys.

Halloween Get Away

What a great weekend we got. Our family had an outing at a resort in Talicud Island Samal. We woke up early in the morning and jump off heading to Sta.Ana wharf where there is a boat bound to that island. Many Island goers too are present at the wharf also waiting for the boat. Families, group of friends, office mates are among those I saw that are out to have fun in the island. When we arrived at the resort, the first thing I noticed was the clean white sand and its pristine waters. Right then I wanted to jump off the boat, dip and join the colorful fishes that welcomes us.

We had our lunch at the beach front, it was so relaxing watching and hearing the water while eating sumptuous sea foods under the coconut trees. The resort staffs are so kind and hospitable. They prepared our food and the rooms where we will be staying. Resort fees and charges were so reasonable not to mention the freebies they gave us on our stay. If I'll be having a visitor or maybe the next time we'll be having a long holidays, I'd love to visit the same resort again.
